Types Of Vibrators

Jelly vibrators, latex vibrators, rabbit vibrators, waterproof vibrators - and the list goes on. There are nearly as many types of vibrator available these days as there are numbers of sex shops selling them, but most of them can fit into one or more of just a few categories.

  • Traditional Vibrators - Long, straight & thin, usually made from plastic and available in all sorts of colours .
  • Waterproof Vibrator- Can be used for shower / bath play and under water.
  • Rabbit Vibrator - Two pronged for stimulation of both the vagina and the clitoris
  • Discreet Vibrator - Can be in various shapes and sizes but will usually be either small or will mimmick another everyday object (like a lipstick)
  • G-Spot Vibrator - Similar to the traditional vibrator but with a curve at the end to stimulate the GSpot
  • Vibrating Egg (can also be bullet shaped) - Egg shaped vibrator which can be used for stimulation of the clitoris or insertion into the vagina
  • Mains Powered Vibrators - Unlike most vibrators which use batteries, these vibrators have a power cord and must be plugged into a wall power socket.
  • Realistic Shaped Vibrator - Styled in the shape of a penis to give an element of realisum and usually jelly coated.
  • Novelty Vibrators - although all vibrators are generally sold as novelties, these are more so than the rest and can include fruit shape vibrators like bananas of a cob of corn.
  • Double Penetration Vibrator - These are of a twin vibrator style for use with penetratiing both the vagina and anal passage at the same time.

In their more common guise as "body massagers", millions of vibrators have been sold to both men and women. Its a fact that some of these men and women never use their purchases for anything other than relief from muscular tension or aches and pains. However, the majority of vibrator owners use them to attain sexual release through their use in self masturbation or foreplay.

But are all vibrators pretty much the same though? Certainly not. There is a great variety not just in how they look, but how they feel aswell. Most vibrators these days can be varied in vibration intensity but some also are capable of multi fuction programs which can be different methods of motion, i.e. the head and body moving independantly like some rabbit vibrators, or it can be programs which vary the vibration cycle from long ramping up periods into short intense bursts. About the only thing tht they do have in common is that they vibrate.

The effectiveness for different tasks will also vary with the type of vibrator being used, as some are good for external stimulation, whilst others are more designed for penetration.
