Although different toy materials may dictate different cleaning requirements, we have outlined some basic guidelines below for cleaning, storing and general hygiene of your sex toys. The finer detail of different materials can be found in our ' Different Sex Toy Materials' page (click here) .
Avoid sharing vibrators, dildos or sex toys with people other than a regular partner (use condoms if unavoidable)
Always clean your vibrator, dildo or sex toy after each use
Remove the batteries whilst cleaning the vibrator, dildo or sex toy
Remove the batteries when storing your vibrators, dildos or sex toys (this will increase the battery life span and prevent damage from leaking batteries)
If corrosion is found inside your vibrator, dildo or sex toy, clean with a small brush and apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to the battery contacts
Ensure a proper sex toy cleaning solution is used (this will kill any bacteria that soap and water can leave behind)
With non waterproof powered toys, wrap a towel or cloth around the base or battery area to stop any water entering the internal electrics or battery compartment.
